The Kansas City Chiefs have reached a level in the NFL that only the New England Patriots can reach. They are currently participating in the Asian Championships for the sixth time and are just one game away from the top 5. They will not play this game at home against the Baltimore Ravens. The Chiefs are currently slightly behind the spread by 4.5, and if that number stays or increases in favor of the Ravens, it would be another first in Patrick Mahomes’ career. The Kansas City Chiefs are the biggest underdogs ever with Patrick Mahomes.Kansas City Chiefs Patrick MahomesJanuary…
When the New England Patriots promoted Jerod Mayo to head coach over Bill Belichick, the team’s defensive coordinator position opened up. They also remain within and are influenced from within to fill that space. All signs point to the Patriots elevating defensive backs coach DeMarcus Covington to the role of defensive coordinator, quarterback Albert Breer said Monday morning. Covington, 34, is considered a rising star as an NFL assistant coach and has been with the Patriots since the 2017 season. He started as the team’s defensive assistant and worked his way up to outside linebackers coach before taking over the…

The 2023 season was always going to be a transition year for the Green Bay Packers after they traded Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets. Especially when they went 3-6 and traded Rasul Douglas to the Buffalo Bills for a third-round pick at the trade deadline. But since that game, the Packers have won six of their last eight games and Jordan Love has gone from question mark to star and into the playoffs. That means the Packers will have to focus on bringing back key contributors, including Keysian Nixon and Bo Melton, who will become free agents and…
The performance in the NFC Divisional round, old doubts about quarterback Brock Purdy resurfaced, even as he led the San Francisco 49ers to a game-winning drive against the Green Bay Packers. Many criticized Purdy’s play due to the 49ers’ offensive decline, especially after Deebo Samuel left the game with a shoulder injury. Still, the All-Pro pass holder said he was impressed with the QB’s work in tight situations. “He’s never overwhelmed and the moment is never too big for him,” Samuel said, via KNBR . He is always ready. Even though I’m not in the band, I watch him and…
The Green Bay Packers fired Joe Berry earlier this week and there are several candidates who could fill the job. One candidate who stands out in particular for his Wisconsin ties and successful record is candidate Jim Leonhard. Most Packers fans know Leonhart, 41, as the defensive coordinator for the Wisconsin Badgers from 2017 to 2022. Leonhard began his career playing defensive back and safety at the University of Wisconsin from 2001 to 2004. He was a three-time All-American and three-time Big Ten player at Madison. He played for six NFL teams from 2005 to 2014, including the New York…
Jordan Love’s emergence as the Green Bay Packers’ future top franchise quarterback was highlighted by his young receiver’s impressive performance in 2023. Rookie Jaden Reed led the Packers in receiving, while Christian Watson and Romeo Dubs made big strides in their second NFL seasons. But down the stretch and into the postseason, fifth-round pick Dontayvion Weeks has become one of Love’s favorite targets.”Wicks had one of the best yards in the NFL,” Thomas Valentine wrote for PFF. “He’s showing his true potential as a player with the ball in his hands. He averaged 5.6 yards per reception this season, 19th…
There’s been a surprising quandary around the NFL about why teams aren’t too eager to sign Bill Belichick, but the problems surrounding the former Patriots coach date back to when Tom Brady left New England.Belichick has been trying to pursue Brady since the 2014 season. This started a long rift between the two. Robert Kraft sided with Brady and future concessions caused friction between him and Belichick. The former Patriots coach met with Brady to iron out issues for the 2021 season, but his shortcomings without Brady also leave Stephen A. Smith with a story to tell. “I can’t be…

New England interviewed Atlanta Falcons special teams coordinator Marquise Williams and offered him the job, but he declined, KPRC 2 Houston’s Aaron Wilson reported Friday. The Patriots have scheduled interviews with Thomas McGohee of the New York Giants and Jeremy Springer of the Los Angeles Rams for special teams coordinator jobs, but New England did not fill a coordinator position on Jarod Mayo’s staff as of Friday. The Green Bay Packers have exceeded all expectations this season. The campaign was a bit of a roller coaster for them, alternating between impressive trips at surprising costs. Of course, a lot of that had to do with injuries and inexperience, but they still righted the ship and finished the season earning a playoff spot. There, they upset the Dallas Cowboys on the road and dominated from start to finish. They also lost the ball after beating the San Francisco 49ers in overtime at Levi’s Stadium, so it’s hard to be mad at them after the loss. So Aaron Jones wanted…
