Mark Pope and the Kentucky coaching staff appear to be zeroing in on the final addition to the Wildcats’ roster, and one transfer target is quickly emerging as the frontrunner.
According to Tristan Pharis, Kentucky held a Zoom meeting on Monday with former Auburn forward Keyshawn Hall, signaling that the Wildcats are seriously evaluating the fifth-year senior as they look to fill their last open scholarship.
Since the NCAA’s latest ruling expanded the transfer pool, Kentucky has carefully explored several options. Hall has rapidly become one of the most sought-after names available, and the Wildcats are wasting no time getting involved.
There are understandable questions surrounding Hall’s college journey, as he has played for multiple programs and is on track to attend his fifth school in five years. Even so, his production on the court makes him difficult to overlook.
Hall Brings Proven SEC Production
Hall put together an outstanding season at Auburn, averaging 19.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game while posting an impressive 60.6% true shooting percentage.
Standing 6-foot-7, Hall offers versatility that fits perfectly in Mark Pope’s system. He can attack defenders off the dribble, score at all three levels, and knocked down 37.9% of his three-point attempts last season. His ability to create offense and stretch the floor would immediately strengthen Kentucky’s lineup.
Several high-profile programs, including Indiana, Kansas, LSU, and St. John’s, have also shown interest, making Hall one of the hottest names still available in the transfer portal.
Kentucky May Have Found Its Best Option
Although Kentucky continues to monitor other available players, Hall appears to be one of the strongest candidates to claim the Wildcats’ final roster spot.
Pope has built positive momentum on the recruiting trail this offseason. While Kentucky missed on prospects such as Nikola Kusturica and Marcus Spears Jr., the Wildcats landed standout forward Milan Momcilovic and secured a commitment from five-star 2027 recruit Ryan Hampton.
Adding Hall would be another significant recruiting victory and would give Kentucky an experienced, proven scorer with SEC success already on his résumé.
His memorable performances at Rupp Arena last season—including consecutive 32-point games—show exactly what he can bring against elite competition.
As the offseason moves closer to the start of fall workouts, Kentucky’s pursuit of Hall appears to be gaining momentum. If the Wildcats can complete the deal, they may have found the final piece needed to complete Mark Pope’s roster for the 2026-27 season.
