Former West Virginia, Kentucky, and Cincinnati guard Kerr Kriisa has reportedly been arrested by the FBI in connection with an alleged multimillion-dollar fraud investigation and is expected to be extradited to West Virginia.
According to reports, the 25-year-old Estonian is scheduled to appear in a West Virginia court next week. While the arrest has been linked to an alleged multimillion-dollar fraud scheme, authorities had not publicly released charging documents or detailed the specific allegations at the time the reports emerged.
Kriisa spent the 2023-24 season at West Virginia after transferring from Arizona. Before suffering a season-ending hand injury, he started all 23 games he played, averaging 11.0 points, 4.7 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game.
He later transferred to Kentucky, where his season was cut short after appearing in just nine games due to a foot injury. Kriisa finished his college basketball career at Cincinnati during the 2025-26 season, averaging 5.8 points and 3.0 assists across 19 games.
This is not the first off-court issue involving Kriisa during his college career. While at West Virginia, he served a nine-game suspension after the NCAA ruled he had received impermissible benefits during his time at Arizona.
Before news of the reported arrest surfaced, Kriisa had recently been announced as a participant for Kentucky’s La Familia team in The Basketball Tournament.
At the time of publication, no charging documents or additional case details had been released publicly. The reported investigation remains ongoing, and more information is expected to become available once court records are made public. As with any criminal case, the allegations have not been proven in court, and Kriisa is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
