Harvey Elliott has indicated that his recovery from injury is going to plan after missing Liverpool’s last seven games across all competitions. The 21-year-old has been sidelined since September after sustaining a fracture to his foot while on international duty with England’s Under-21s.
Last month, the ECHO reported that Elliott was hopeful of making a return to action after the international break, with Liverpool next in action when they welcome Chelsea to Anfield on October 20.
On Wednesday, the midfielder implied that his return to action is on track by uploading a story to Instagram of himself at the Reds’ Kirkby base accompanied by several hourglass emojis.
It has been a difficult start to the new campaign for Elliott, as despite impressing on Liverpool’s summer tour of the United States was unable to force his way into Arne Slot’s starting XI in the opening weeks of the season.
Elliott’s only appearance of the season came in the closing stages of the 2-0 win over Brentford at Anfield on August 25, with goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah continuing the Reds’ impressive start to the season.
After the October international break, Liverpool face fixtures against Chelsea, RB Leipzig and Arsenal before games against Brighton & Hove Albion – both in the Premier League and League Cup – and Bayer Leverkusen.
