Pundit predictions can be utterly terrible sometimes.
Whether it’s Chris Sutton, Paul Merson or Mark Lawrenson, many of the columnists who try to predict games in the Premier League get it so wrong on a weekly basis.
However, one pundit who does seem to have a knack for predictions is Troy Deeney.
Last week, the striker started posting Premier League predictions to his TikTok page, and, remarkably, he called the result of every single game correctly.
Deeney has attempted to follow up his predictions this week, and perhaps the most difficult game to call this weekend is Liverpool vs Manchester City.
The Premier League’s two best teams face off on Sunday, and Deeney has tipped City to win 3-1 in this one.
Troy Deeney backs Man City to beat Liverpool
The pundit spoke about this weekend’s crunch clash.
“See now a couple of weeks ago I would’ve said this would’ve been an unbelievable team with both teams going at each other. I know Salah’s back and Trent might be back, but the goalkeeper being out is huge for Liverpool. I know Kelleher has done well, Jota being out is huge. I think City are just starting to hit form so I will say City win 3-1,” Deeney said.
Tough to call
If any prediction is going to end Deeney’s perfect run of calling Premier League games this could be it.
Liverpool vs City is such a difficult game to call, and there are arguments to make on both sides.
On one hand, Liverpool will be hugely buoyed by the Anfield crowd and the fact that this is Jurgen Klopp’s final season, but, on the other hand, City do have immense quality and many of their best players are in red hot form right now.
No matter which way this game goes, it should be an absolute cracker of a match.
