Latest Liverpool news and gossip emerge as several Reds players took to Instagram and other social media platforms to share their reactions to Darwin Nunez’s decisive goal in the Premier League match against Nottingham Forest.

The winning goal by Darwin Nunez for Liverpool against Nottingham Forest has elicited numerous responses from his fellow teammates.

In a Premier League clash at the City Ground on Saturday, the Reds secured a narrow 1-0 triumph over Forest. Nunez’s crucial header occurred in the ninth minute of second-half stoppage time, marking his 14th goal of the season and triggering jubilant celebrations among both players and traveling supporters.

Initially starting from the bench in Nottingham due to a recent recovery from a muscle injury, Nunez entered the pitch in the 60th minute, substituting Andy Robertson. His timely contribution culminated in one of the final moments of the game, clinching victory for Liverpool.

Several members of Liverpool’s squad took to social media to express their reactions after the goal. A significant portion of these responses originated from players who are presently sidelined due to injury.

Among the first to share his thoughts was Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool’s vice-captain who is recuperating from a knee injury.

Alexander-Arnold utilised his Instagram story platform to upload a picture of a television displaying the Nunez celebration. Accompanying the image was a succinct caption that stated: “Nunez” followed by three salute emojis.

After Nunez scored the goal, Alexander-Arnold wasn’t the only one taking to social media. Alexis Mac Allister, who assisted the winning header, had a message for Nunez, who was making his comeback from injury in that game.

“It’s not over till it’s over! We are @liverpoolfc,” wrote Mac Allister. “Our number 9 is back.”

Mac Allister also shared another Instagram story post featuring a smiling photo of himself alongside Nunez in the City Ground tunnel. The caption read: “Could someone tell him to smile?

During the match, Dominik Szoboszlai marked his comeback from injury by entering as a substitute in the second half. Following Nunez’s goal, the Hungary international took to Instagram to share a message: “A stylish comeback with an important win today!”

Ibrahima Konate and Wataru Endo both emphasized the importance of playing until the final whistle after the intense finish at the City Ground. Konate expressed it as “TILL THE END,” while Endo echoed a similar sentiment. “Until the end.”

After leading Liverpool to victory as captain, Virgil van Dijk had a succinct message following their clean sheet and three-point haul. Van Dijk penned: “This team!” The Reds will now prepare to face Sparta Prague in the Europa League last-16 first leg on Thursday night.
