Paul Merson has given his verdict on Liverpool right-back Conor Bradley.
The former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit has noted what is unusual about the 20-year-old Liverpool right-back.
So, what has Paul Merson said about Liverpool defender Conor Bradley? Let’s take a look.
Paul Merson blown away by Liverpool youngster Conor Bradley
Well, Paul Merson has been speaking about Conor Bradley, and the former Arsenal star has been hugely impressed by the Liverpool right-back.
The Sky Sports pundit has noted that the 20-year-old Northern Ireland international right-back always makes the right decision, and he finds it very unusual.
Bradley has got his chance at Liverpool due to an injury to Trent Alexander-Arnold. The 20-year-old has scored one goal and given three assists in four Premier League matches for the Reds this season.
Merson said about Bradley on Sky Sports News (12:12 pm, February 24, 2024): “I mean, this kid has got unbelievable talent. We were just watching the clips there, I know that clips can make you look great, but his intelligence, his football brain, he knows when to pass, when to close down.
“Everything he does, it is the right decision. For a 20-year-old, that is unusual, very unusual, for a 20-year-old to make consistently the right decisions, playing for a big football club.”
The pundit added: “I think this kid is amazing.”
My View: Let us not overhype Conor Bradley
In my view, we have to be patient with Conor Bradley. I think that Liverpool fans should not overhype the Northern Ireland international right-back.
No, I am not saying at all that Bradley is not a good player. I believe that the youngster is hugely promising and has a lot of potential.
The way that Bradley has been playing for Liverpool in recent weeks and showing his quality underlines how good he is and how talented he is.
However, we must not forget that Bradley is only 20 now. He is just starting his career. He has played only a handful of matches for Liverpool, who will face Chelsea in the final of the Carabao Cup on Sunday.
We have to let Bradley develop and grow at his own pace. Trent Alexander-Arnold is the first-choice right-back for Liverpool, and I think that we have to keep that in mind.
