The Pittsburgh Steelers always somehow find ways to win under head coach Mike Tomlin and the 2023 NFL season was no different as the team overcame injuries to qualify for the 2023 NFL playoffs.
Pittsburgh lost to the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card round, but learned which of their young players are worth building around for the long haul.
The Steelers have a decent mix of up-and-coming talent and veterans on the roster, though the organization could definitely use cheaper players to help supplement both sides of the field.
One player looking to make a comeback in 2024 is Cameron Heyward, who was slowed down by injuries.
The long-time anchor of the defensive line has led the team on that end for years, though he’s much closer to retiring than the beginning of his career.
However, Heyward is taking everything in stride and is using whatever he can as motivation, via his personal Twitter account.
“Use it all for fuel man. I honestly love it! I let my mind find the dumbest things to just push me forward. #97motivation,” Heyward tweeted.
NFL players will look for almost anything to give them some sort of edge, and Heyward seems to be listening to all the critics and doubters.
Heyward appeared in 11 games for Pittsburgh last season, but saw his production dip across the board as he tried to find some rhythm.
Assuming he’s fully healthy in 2024, Heyward should be able to regain some of his form and hopefully get the Steelers back to the postseason.
