Darwin Nunez has sent a message to Liverpool fans after helping the club return to the top of the Premier League. Manchester United beat Burnley 3-1 on Saturday with Nunes on the scoresheet. Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz scored for Liverpool at Anfield and Nunes added a third for the Kop in the second half.

In the process, Liverpool temporarily overtook Manchester City and went top of the Premier League after an early win over Everton. Thanks to his goal against the Clarets, Nunes now has 12 goals and 11 assists in all competitions for Liverpool.

The Reds have the opportunity to move five points clear at the top of the Premier League with an early start to Saturday’s game against Wasps.City have two points going into the game and play at home to Chelsea next Saturday at 5.30pm. Arsenal are five points behind Liverpool ahead of Sunday’s game against West Ham and face Burnley next Saturday. It comes just hours after the Reds took on Brentford.
