Liverpool defender Conor Bradley is mourning the death of his father. Joe Bradley, 58, died Saturday morning and had been ill for several weeks. Conor Bradley has been a standout player for Liverpool since joining the club last month and has made a number of appearances.
The 20-year-old was named man of the match in Wednesday night’s 4-1 win over Chelsea. “Liverpool FC is deeply saddened by the death of Conor Bradley’s father Joe today,” Liverpool said in a statement.”The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Connor and the entire Bradley family at this very difficult and sad time.
“On Connor’s behalf, LFC strongly insists that the family’s privacy be fully maintained at this time.”Meanwhile, Dungannon manager Rodney McAree said the Liverpool defender’s father had given his son “good advice” about his career.”For Connor to make his competitive debut, score his first goal and assist so many goals, it’s very hard to live up to the devastating news we’ve heard today,”
McAree told the Belfast Telegraph. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Connor, his mother Linda and their family.“This is a very sad time for Conor and his family and our thoughts are with them. “His mum and dad have given Conor great advice over the years.”Conor is a strong boy but losing a father is not easy so our thoughts are with him and Linda at this time.”
