Liverpool are unbeaten in their previous 15 Premier League games and will be hoping to continue their unbeaten run when they travel to London to face Arsenal on Sunday. Manchester City are five points adrift of Anfield but have played a game so Liverpool will not be in contention against the Gunners. A defeat on Sunday will see MCFC and Arsenal catch up. Arsenal have bounced back from a disappointing run of results, but Liverpool are top of the table heading into Sunday’s game with 16 goals in their last five games.
They arrived at the stadium in midweek when Chelsea came to Merseyside, with Klopp’s side beating the Blues four times. With this being Jurgen Klopp’s final season at Anfield, his players will be keen to say goodbye to the Premier League trophy. However, to achieve this goal, the red team must not lose too many points.
Liverpool news and injuries;
Liverpool are without Joel Matip, Bajcetic, Thiago, Tsimikas and even Mo Salah who are all out with long-term injuries.
Salah’s Egypt knocked out of AFCON but right winger recovering from injury. Jota played on the right in the 4-1 win over Chelsea and will retain that position on Sunday.
Conor Bradley replaced Trent Alexander-Arnold as man of the match and is ready to resume. But Liverpool have just announced that the teenager’s father has passed away, meaning he is unlikely to feature in the game against Arsenal.
Bradley’s absence opens the door for him to return to the TAA squad and Andy Robertson could be in the running for a starting spot. Robertson only played around 20 minutes off the bench in the midweek game, but Joe Gomez performed very well on the left, so Klopp can rely on him well.
Darwin Nunez suffered a foot injury during the week and will be evaluated through Sunday. Nunez attended Liverpool training on Friday afternoon, suggesting he could very well play against Liverpool.
Liverpool have predicted their line-up for the match against Arsenal.Predicted starting lineup (4-3-3): Alisson; Trent, Konate, Van Dijk, Joe Gomez/Robertson; Szoboszlai Alister, Curtis Jones; Diogo Jota, Nunes, Luis Diaz.
