Liverpool have been tracking Goncalo Inácio for some time and the Portuguese is also attracting attention in the current transfer market. Earlier this month, we reported via Correio da Manha that the Reds were preparing a bid to sign the Sporting CP star.
The Record recently broke the news (via Sport Witness) that Liverpool and Newcastle United are interested in signing Inacio. Sources say suitors can only leave before the deadline if the player agrees to activate his £51.2m (€60m) release clause. There is still time to complete the January transfers, but Amorim will keep key players until at least the end of the season.
The records show that Sporting need to make at least two big sales in the next transfer window and are already looking for replacements for Inacio and Diomand. With just 15 league games remaining, the Lions are in pole position to win the title and will no doubt be keen to keep hold of their prized possession this month.
