Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool have found “the best solution” in the summer transfer window after conceding three goals.Jude Bellingham has long earned the respect of the Reds during his time at Borussia Dortmund.
However, Liverpool were knocked out of the running after it was announced that the England international would be joining Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Brighton have made a British record bid of £111m for Moises Caicedo and made a bid for Southampton’s Romeo Lavia.
However, the two chose to move to Chelsea. Stamford Bridge travel to Anfield tonight but Caicedo and Lavia have underperformed, with Lavia making just one appearance and Chelsea remain ninth in the Premier League. Liverpool, meanwhile, are two points clear after signing Dominik Sboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch in Alexis McAllister’s midfield rebuild.
And Klopp thinks all is well. The Reds boss said: “We were interested in Bellingham, we knew it wasn’t going to happen and we thought we could do Caicedo, so Bellingham came in. (But) he had an emotional relationship with Chelsea and Mauricio Pochettino. I made a deal, so there was a reason for Lavia, that’s why I was there.
Then I found the best solution.“I got Wataru (Endo) and I knew Mac (Alexis McAllister) could play that position and Dom (Dominik Soboszlai) was always on my radar. “If one of the 100 million euros (contracts) is successful, there is no way on the other one. When we said we were happy, we meant it. “As long as it wasn’t scripted, everything was fine.”
