Mark Pope is on the cusp of a perfect first season as the head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats. With a 17-7 overall record and 6-5 in SEC play, Pope has exceeded expectations in his inaugural season. The Wildcats have five wins over top-ten teams and seven total wins over teams ranked in the top 15. Pope’s ability to assemble a talented roster through the transfer portal has been impressive. However, there is one box left for Pope to check off: winning an NCAA Tournament game. Despite appearing in the tournament twice as the head coach at BYU, Pope is…
The Cleveland Browns’ quarterback issue and Myles Garrett’s trade request are expected to have a significant impact on the team’s approach to the NFL Draft. Ashley Bastock of and Jeff Lloyd of Browns 3D on the Orange and Brown Report discussed the topic on the “Sports 4 CLE” show. They talked about how much weight solving the QB problem has in the NFL Draft and how Garrett’s trade request is impacting the Browns’ draft strategy. The Browns’ quarterback situation is uncertain, and the team may look to the draft to find a solution. Garrett’s trade request has added another layer…
The Cleveland Browns are facing a potential storm as two cornerstone players, Myles Garrett and Joel Bitonio, consider their futures. Garrett has requested a trade, while Bitonio is contemplating retirement amid whispers of a possible rebuild. ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Grossi shed light on Bitonio’s timeline for a decision. “Well, he knows the calendar of the year, so, he knows that he’s gotta give them a decision going into the new business season, which is March 12th. So I would think, if not before the Combine, right after the Combine he’ll let the team know.” Bitonio’s potential departure would mark the…
The Cleveland Browns fanbase is one of the most loyal of any fanbase in the NFL. They will stand by this team through thick and thin, and there has been a lot of heartbreak and hurt throughout the years. While they will stand by this team, they will also be the first to criticize them, which often starts with the front office. Fans have been particularly harsh about how Andrew Berry and his staff handled the offseason heading into the 2024 campaign. Daryl Ruiter highlighted in a recent episode of “It’s Always Gameday” that Berry’s decision to “run it back”…
Chris Canty, a former NFL player and current analyst, believes the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Super Bowl window is closed. Canty’s comments come after a disappointing season for the Steelers, who failed to make a deep playoff run. “It’s hard to have any faith in this team right now,” Canty said. “They’ve got some pieces, but they’re missing some key components. They need to rebuild and retool if they want to compete with the top teams in the league.” Canty’s comments are likely to spark debate among Steelers fans, who are still holding out hope that the team can make a championship…
NY Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be looking for a new home this offseason after his soon-to-be former team decided to part ways with him in what appears to be somewhat of a mutual decision. There will be no shortage of teams looking for quarterback help this offseason, and in what is expected to be a weak QB market, one would think Rodgers would garner plenty of interest. It might not be that simple, however. Finding a landing spot for Rodgers could be tricky given his age, injury history, and obvious off-field baggage. Part of the reason the Jets are…
Kenny Pickett winning a Super Bowl has certainly touched a nerve within Steeler Nation. So has the state of Pittsburgh’s current quarterback situation. It took one whole day for some bad news to come out of spring training for the Pirates. And some people didn’t appreciate my gambling advice. That gives us plenty to go with in this week’s “U mad, bro?” Let’s begin with “Steve C.” regarding Spencer Horwitz showing up to spring training with a wrist injury. “I guess he was trying to spare us fans when he goes on the I.R. after opening day when he realizes…
The Pittsburgh Steelers do not look like the only team that will be in pursuit of Deebo Samuel. In fact, two other teams within their own division could be competitors for Samuel’s services. Adam Schefter of ESPN not only believes the Steelers are a possible landing spot, but threw out the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals as possible teams that could be involved in the Samuel sweepstakes. “I think it’s hard to pinpoint right now where Deebo would go,” Schefter said on Monday’s episode of the Pat McAfee Show. “I could see him in Pittsburgh, I could see him in…
