Kentucky basketball continues to explore new options as Mark Pope works to finalize the Wildcats’ roster for the 2026-27 season, and a new international name has now emerged on the radar.
According to KSR’s Jacob Polacheck, Kentucky has been in contact with the agent of former Georgia guard Savo Drezgic, who most recently played professionally for Mega Superbet.
The Wildcats still have multiple roster spots available, and while much of the attention around the program remains focused on Malachi Moreno’s NBA Draft decision and the possibility of pursuing Milan Momcilovic, the coaching staff is continuing to evaluate several additional targets behind the scenes.
Drezgic is one of the latest names to surface.
The Serbian guard spent the 2024-25 season at Georgia, where he played limited minutes in SEC competition. During his lone season with the Bulldogs, he averaged 2.9 points and 1.1 rebounds in 6.8 minutes per game.
Since leaving Georgia, however, Drezgic has shown major improvement overseas.
This past season with Mega Superbet, he averaged 16.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game while shooting 41.6% from the field and 35.7% from three-point range on more than six attempts per game.
His development as a scorer and playmaker has now put him back on the radar for several college programs looking for experienced backcourt help.
At this point, it remains unclear how serious Kentucky’s interest is, but the reported contact suggests Mark Pope and his staff are actively searching for another ball-handler who could strengthen the Wildcats’ guard rotation heading into next season.
With roster movement still ongoing across college basketball, Kentucky appears determined to keep all options open as the offseason continues.
Now, the focus shifts to whether the Wildcats decide to push harder in their pursuit of Drezgic — or if this is simply another early evaluation as Pope continues building his roster.
