Mark Pope entered this offseason knowing Kentucky needed major roster improvements, especially after missing out on top-ranked recruit Tyran Stokes. While the Wildcats have added talent, many fans still believe the team is missing one more major piece that could elevate Kentucky into serious contender status.
Now, as the NBA Draft process continues, one conversation keeps resurfacing around Big Blue Nation — and it involves Kentucky potentially making a massive push for a proven impact player.
During a recent appearance on The Field of 68, analyst Rob Dauster suggested Kentucky should be willing to go all-in financially if either Milan Momcilovic or Allen Graves decides to return to college basketball.
“If I’m Kentucky, and I don’t see Milan Momcilovic and Allen Graves’ names in any first-round mock drafts, I’m writing a blank check. Name your price,” Dauster said.
That statement immediately grabbed the attention of Kentucky fans because it reflects the growing urgency surrounding the Wildcats’ offseason plans.
Kentucky still has room to make another major addition, and many inside BBN believe the roster still lacks a consistent go-to scorer who can take pressure off the rest of the lineup. That’s why both Momcilovic and Graves continue to be heavily discussed.
Graves entered the draft process with momentum thanks to his shooting ability and offensive production, but recent combine reports suggested his athletic testing may not have helped his stock. If his draft projections continue to slip, a return to college basketball could become more realistic.
Momcilovic remains another fascinating possibility. Scouts already know he can shoot and score at a high level, but there are still questions about whether he has done enough to guarantee himself first-round security. Many projections currently place him somewhere in the second round.
That uncertainty has Kentucky fans paying attention to every update.
Reports earlier this offseason suggested Kentucky had major NIL resources available during the pursuit of Tyran Stokes. Since Stokes ultimately committed elsewhere, many fans now believe those resources could potentially be redirected toward another elite target.
For Mark Pope, this moment feels critical.
The pressure to deliver a stronger roster is growing louder, and Kentucky fans are expecting a move that changes the energy surrounding the program heading into next season. Adding a player like Momcilovic or Graves would instantly shift expectations across the SEC and beyond.
Of course, both players could still remain in the NBA Draft, but until final decisions are made, the speculation around Kentucky is only getting louder.
And right now, one thing feels very clear to BBN…
Kentucky’s roster drama is far from finished.
