What happens in practice usually stays in practice — but not this time.
A now-viral, unofficially recorded clip from Duke’s summer workout just hit the internet… and fans are LOSING it. The footage, reportedly captured on a staffer’s phone and leaked through a private group chat, shows one of the most intense sequences we’ve seen from the Blue Devils’ loaded summer squad — and it’s already making waves across social media.
In the short but explosive video, Cayden Boozer tries to blow by Dame Sarr on a switch, only to be met by a lightning-quick recovery and a swatted layup attempt that hits the backboard so hard it echoed across the gym. Before the ball could even hit the ground, Cameron Boozer scoops it up and leads a transition break — slinging a no-look pass to Nikolas Khamenia, who throws down a vicious one-handed slam.
But that was just the beginning.
Seconds later, Isaiah Evans comes flying in on the next play, delivering a filthy Euro-step around Patrick Ngongba II — only for Maliq Brown to rise out of nowhere and send the shot flying. The gym erupted. On the sideline, Darren Harris yelled “OH MY GOD!” while holding his head, and Caleb Foster, now one of the leaders of this young group, was seen clapping and screaming, “THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKIN’ ABOUT!”
The clip — meant to stay in-house — now has over 2.1 million views in less than 12 hours, with fans, recruits, and NBA scouts flooding comment sections:
> “This Duke team is different.”
“That’s not a college practice… that’s a pro-level battlefield.”
“The Boozers, Evans, Sarr… this is a scary mix of talent.”
Sources inside the program weren’t happy the footage got leaked — but one assistant was overheard saying:
> “If that is what’s getting out… you don’t want to know what we’re keeping secret.”
And that’s the real story here. The Duke gym isn’t just hosting workouts — it’s hosting wars. No one’s coasting. Every rep, every drill, every play is a battle. The veterans are getting pushed. The freshmen aren’t backing down. And the competition level? Borderline NBA.
One thing’s for sure:
If this is the summer intensity… what’s November going to look like?
