Liverpool, England – The wait for Mohammed Salah to sign a new contract with Liverpool continues, with the Egyptian superstar reportedly holding out for a number of key concessions.
According to sources close to the negotiations, Salah is seeking a significant increase in his salary, as well as a number of additional perks and benefits.
One of the main sticking points is reportedly Salah’s desire for a private jet, which he believes will allow him to travel more easily and efficiently during the season.
“Mo is a global superstar, and he needs to be able to travel in style and comfort,” said a source close to the player. “He’s not asking for the moon, just a private jet that will allow him to get to where he needs to go quickly and easily.”
Another issue that is reportedly holding up the negotiations is Salah’s desire for a personalized training facility at Melwood, Liverpool’s training ground.
“Mo wants to be able to train in a facility that is tailored to his specific needs,” said the source. “He’s willing to invest his own money in the facility, but he needs the club to agree to let him build it.”
Despite the delays, Liverpool is reportedly still confident that they can reach an agreement with Salah.
“We’re working hard to get a deal done, and we’re hopeful that we can reach an agreement soon,” said a club spokesperson. “Mo is a key player for us, and we want to make sure that he’s happy and fulfilled here at Liverpool.”
Salah’s current contract is set to expire in 2025, and Liverpool is eager to tie him down to a new deal.
The Egyptian superstar has been in sensational form for Liverpool this season, scoring 20 goals in all competitions and helping the Reds to challenge for the Premier League title.
Despite the delays in the contract negotiations, Salah has continued to perform at a high level on the pitch, and Liverpool fans are hopeful that he will soon put pen to paper on a new deal.
Only time will tell if Liverpool and Salah can reach an agreement, but one thing is certain – the Reds need their star player to be happy and fulfilled if they are to achieve their goals this season.
