Ray Parlour has predicted how Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will fare against Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United at Old Trafford this weekend.
Liverpool will take on Premier League rivals Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday.
Former Arsenal star Ray Parlour has predicted on talkSPORT that Liverpool will win the match. He has backed Egyptian star Mohamed Salah to score for the Reds.
Liverpool will head into the tie against United on the back of a 6-1 hammering of Sparta Prague at Anfield in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 tie.
As for United, they beat Everton 2-0 at Old Trafford in the Premier League last weekend and bounced back from a defeat to Manchester City in the Manchester derby.
Ray Parlour backs Liverpool to beat Manchester United
Parlour said on talkSPORT (7:44 am, March 15, 2024): “Well, certainly Liverpool did the business last night, scoring goals for fun.
“Jurgen Klopp is still looking at those trophies to go out on a high, the Premier League, the FA Cup is a big big trophy from Liverpool’s point of view.
“Manchester United, the rivalry, massive rivalry between both clubs, but I just think Liverpool will be too strong, getting players back as well.
“I am going to go 1-3 Liverpool 3-1, and I will go Salah.”
My View: Mohamed Salah will score for Liverpool vs Manchester United
In my opinion, Liverpool will win against Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday.
While I do not think that Liverpool will find it very easy against United, I do believe that the Reds will get the job done in the end.
Liverpool are in great form now, and there is also the threat of Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian is back from injury with a bang. It is as if he was never on the sidelines.
Salah was superb against Manchester City in the Premier League last weekend and created two very good chances.
The former Chelsea player scored against Sparta Prague at Anfield on Thursday evening, Salah also gave three assists.
I am backing Salah to score at least once for Liverpool against United.
