Bobby Clark came through the Newcastle United youth system, and he is now starring for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been using a number of young players in recent weeks, and one of them is Bobby Clark.
Former Newcastle United prospect Bobby Clark flourishing at Liverpool
Clark is just 19 now, but he seems to be at ease playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world.
The midfielder does not need to be fazed at playing in front of a packed Anfield and against any opposition.
The England Under-19 international has been on the books of Liverpool since 2021 when he joined from Newcastle United.
According to The Liverpool Echo, Liverpool paid Newcastle £1.5 million for Clark. The midfielder was 16 at the time.
Newcastle’s loss has been Liverpool’s gain, who are aiming to win the Premier League title this season.
Clark has made one start and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Reds this season.
The midfielder has also scored one goal and provided one assist in one start and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Europa League.
Joe Cole impressed
Joe Cole has been hugely impressed with Clark. The former Liverpool star and TNT Sports pundit has noted what makes him a special player.
Cole said on TNT Sports 1 (5:53 pm, March 14, 2024): “He loves the football, he gets on the ball, he is very exciting. He can go both ways. I love his mindset. I love that way he is always positive.”
Clark is only 19 now, so we have to be careful about overhyping him too much. After all, he is just starting his career and is not the finished article yet.
But, at the same time, we should be excited about the potential that Clark has. He is clearly a very good midfielder with a lot of ability and is hugely promising.
It will be interesting to see how the England Under-19 international midfielder develops and progresses in the coming years.
