Kentucky basketball fans have another reason to keep an eye on Trent Noah as the Wildcats continue preparing for the 2026-27 season.
Noah was recently seen wearing a protective boot, immediately raising questions among Big Blue Nation about the severity of his latest injury and whether he could miss significant time.
The development comes after Noah re-aggravated a hamstring injury that had already bothered him earlier this summer. According to KSR’s Jack Pilgrim, the Kentucky wing initially tweaked the hamstring in July. At the time, head coach Mark Pope described the issue as “a nothing,” but Noah later missed Kentucky’s final open practice of the summer.
The latest setback was already expected to keep Noah out during the preseason and could potentially affect his availability for Kentucky’s exhibition schedule.
However, the appearance of a protective boot does not, by itself, establish a new diagnosis or confirm how long Noah will be unavailable. The reason for the boot and his eventual return timeline will depend on medical evaluation and updates from Kentucky.
That distinction is important for Kentucky fans.
Noah has been an important piece of Pope’s roster, and any extended absence would give the Wildcats another issue to manage during preseason preparations. Kentucky has already dealt with several injury-related situations this offseason, including Kam Williams’ foot recovery, Franck Kepnang’s previous leg issues and Milan Momcilovic’s injured shooting-hand finger.
Pope has remained confident about getting several of those players back for the season, giving Kentucky reason to remain focused on the bigger picture.
For now, Noah’s protective boot is certainly something BBN will monitor, but it should not automatically be viewed as proof that he will miss a major portion of the season.
The most important update will come when Kentucky provides more information about Noah’s condition and his progression toward basketball activities.
With the regular season still ahead, there is time for Noah to recover. Until a more specific medical update is provided, his exact return date remains uncertain.
