Kentucky’s latest summer practice videos have given Big Blue Nation plenty to talk about, with many fans believing Mark Pope may have already revealed the foundation of his starting lineup for the 2026-27 season.
While Pope has not officially announced his starters, the combinations seen during practice have fueled speculation that five players are beginning to separate themselves from the rest of the roster.
The projected starting lineup includes:

Small Forward: Milan Momcilovic
Power Forward: Ousmane N’Diaye

If this group ultimately takes the floor on opening night, it would give Kentucky an impressive blend of size, skill, shooting, and versatility.
Zoom Diallo appears ready to lead the offense after emerging as one of the team’s most vocal leaders throughout summer workouts. His ability to push the pace, create for teammates, and defend opposing guards makes him a natural fit at point guard.
Alex Wilkins brings versatility to the backcourt. His length and two-way ability could allow him to guard multiple positions while also providing another playmaker alongside Diallo.
On the wing, Milan Momcilovic gives Kentucky one of the nation’s premier shooters. His ability to stretch the floor should create more space for the Wildcats’ offense and make defenses pay for collapsing into the paint.
The frontcourt could be one of Kentucky’s biggest strengths. Ousmane N’Diaye offers athleticism, length, and defensive versatility at power forward, while Malachi Moreno anchors the middle with his size, rebounding, rim protection, and expanding offensive game.
The projected lineup also fits what Mark Pope has been emphasizing throughout the summer. He recently praised his team’s length, playmaking, and elite shooting, noting that six Wildcats are shooting better than 70 percent on their three-point practice repetitions. Those qualities are reflected in this potential starting five.
