Kentucky fans have been waiting for a major recruiting win, and Mark Pope delivered when he landed 2027 five-star guard Ryan Hampton. Ranked as the No. 6 overall player in the country and the No. 2 shooting guard in his class, Hampton instantly became one of the most important commitments of Pope’s tenure in Lexington.
Since announcing his commitment, Hampton has made it clear he’s embracing his future with the Wildcats. During his official visit to Kentucky, he proudly wore Wildcats gear, and that trend hasn’t slowed down. In fact, it seems like the talented Texas native is finding every opportunity possible to represent the blue and white.
Most recently, Hampton shared photos from a workout while wearing Kentucky basketball apparel, including a Wildcats shirt and Kentucky-branded shorts. The images quickly caught the attention of Big Blue Nation, with fans excited to see one of the nation’s top prospects already showing so much pride in his future program.
On the court, Hampton continues to prove why he’s considered one of the elite players in the 2027 class. Playing on the Nike EYBL circuit, he averaged 23.3 points per game with LivOn before moving to Nightrydas, where he has continued to impress. Through four games with his new squad, Hampton posted 21.0 points per game while shooting 43 percent from the field, 38 percent from three-point range, and 79 percent from the free-throw line.
Recruiting analysts remain extremely high on his potential. Rivals national analyst Jamie Shaw recently described Hampton as a “bona fide Top 10 guy” whose scoring ability separates him from many of his peers. His combination of shot-making, athleticism, and offensive versatility has many projecting him as a future professional prospect.
For Kentucky fans, seeing Hampton proudly wear Wildcats gear nearly every chance he gets is another encouraging sign. It shows a player who is excited about his future in Lexington and fully invested in becoming part of the program.
While Hampton still has time before he officially arrives on campus, the excitement surrounding his commitment continues to grow. If his recent actions are any indication, he’s already embracing life as a Wildcat — and Kentucky fans can’t wait to see him eventually wear the real Kentucky jersey on the court at Rupp Arena.
