Kentucky menβs basketball head coach Mark Pope announced a new addition to the Wildcatsβ 2025-26 roster on Thursday. The commitment comes after a recent change to the programβs recruiting class created an open scholarship.
The new player was previously committed to another program before entering the transfer portal this week. Kentucky contacted the player following the portal entry and secured a commitment within 48 hours, according to a source familiar with the recruitment. He is expected to join the team for summer workouts and will be eligible for the upcoming season.
The addition gives Kentucky another experienced option in the backcourt, aligning with Popeβs stated preference for multiple ball-handlers in his system. The roster move comes after a prior signee reopened his recruitment earlier this week.
The university will release the playerβs name and additional eligibility information once all admission and compliance paperwork is complete. Kentucky has one scholarship remaining for the 2025-26 season.
