One short clip. Thousands of comments. And a fanbase completely split down the middle.
That’s the situation right now after a VIRAL summer practice video from Lexington made its way to social media — and let’s just say… the reactions have been WILD.
At the center of the storm?
> Denzel Aberdeen — the transfer guard turning heads and dividing opinions.
The footage showed him hitting tough stepbacks, slicing through defenders, and talking confidently with teammates. The energy was loud… but not everyone was impressed.
“This Ain’t Florida Anymore…”
While some fans were quick to crown him the sleeper gem of the offseason, others weren’t buying the hype.
> “Looks good in practice. Let’s see it when the lights are on.”
“Y’all overhyping this already He had a few buckets and a stare-down.”
“No lie… Denzel Aberdeen might be our dog this year. Dude got confidence and GAME.”
Even rival fans jumped into the comments section — some throwing shade, others reluctantly giving props.
Coaches Have Seen Enough
Behind the scenes, however, it’s a different story. Insiders say the coaching staff is buzzing about Aberdeen’s maturity, toughness, and competitive edge.
One staffer reportedly said:
> “He doesn’t back down. He’s setting the tone in these practices — exactly what we needed in the backcourt.”
Is He Overhyped?
That’s the million-dollar question.
The truth is: Denzel Aberdeen came to Kentucky with something to prove. At Florida, his minutes were limited — but now, he’s getting his shot. And he’s clearly not wasting it.
He still has things to polish, sure. But the confidence, quick trigger, and defensive energy? That’s all VERY real.
Final Take
Whether you’re Team “Overhyped” or Team “Real Deal,” one thing is clear:
> Denzel Aberdeen has Big Blue Nation talking — and the season hasn’t even started yet.
So grab your popcorn. The drama has only just begun.
And that viral clip? Yeah… it might be the first chapter in a serious breakout year.
