Liverpool have one advantage over Arsenal in the Premier League title race, according to Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp.
Arne Slot’s side are currently just three points clear of the Gunners in the league standings after the London club’s 5-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday evening. The Reds are in action against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, while they also have a further game in hand against Merseyside rivals Everton.
That being said, Liverpool failed to further extend their lead over their title rivals, including Chelsea, in recent weeks after suffering back-to-back Premier League draws against Newcastle United and Fulham. Regardless, Redknapp believes Liverpool’s strength in depth, with key players returning to fitness, could give them the edge over Arsenal in the title race.
“Liverpool, they’re the team right now that’s in great form but we all know how quickly form can disappear,” the pundit told Sky Sports after Arsenal’s win at Selhurst Psrk.
“They’ve been brilliant because they’ve had a few injuries as well but what Liverpool have got and Arsenal still need – and if they can do it in January I think it’d give them even more chance – is that when everyone is fit, I’m talking Jota and players like that, so many people can come off the bench and make an impact.
“Arsenal are just short in that area. I think Jesus is going to be interesting and how they utilise him in games, but I still think they need another striker or forward player, someone to come in off the wide just to add some goals, experience and bolster that forward line.
