A 22-year-old Manchester City fan has been charged with a public order offense, and eight others have been arrested following allegations of tragedy chanting during the recent Liverpool vs Manchester City match at Anfield.
The incident is believed to have occurred when a group of Manchester City supporters allegedly chanted about the Hillsborough disaster, which resulted in the deaths of 97 Liverpool fans in 1989.
Merseyside Police have confirmed that nine people were arrested in connection with the incident, with one fan charged with a public order offense. The others were released on bail pending further investigation.
