Liverpool’s preparations for Aston Villa continued on Friday as Arne Slot put his players through their paces for the final time ahead of Saturday’s game.
The Reds will be aiming to maintain their position at the top of the Premier League heading into the international break, with Manchester City currently sitting just two points behind, while Arsenal is seven points off the lead.
Slot will be without four players again tomorrow, with Diogo Jota, Federico Chiesa, Harvey Elliott and Alisson Becker all still out through injury. The players who are fit though were in good spirits on Friday, with a new face joining the ranks at the AXA Training Centre.
Liverpool.com has taken a look at the latest pictures from training and picked out four things we spotted ahead of tomorrow’s game against Villa.
Rio steps up
Even at just 16 years of age, Rio Ngumoha has caused quite a stir since making the move to Liverpool. Chelsea was left fuming when he left Stamford Bridge to make his way to Merseyside, and the Blues probably won’t be best pleased with the latest pictures coming out of the AXA Training Centre.
The young forward was spotted training with Slot’s first team as his quick ascent up the ranks continues. Trey Nyoni was also included once again, with the 17-year-old becoming something of a regular among the senior ranks.
