Konate put in a superb shift for the Reds – despite his mistake to let Ait-Nouri equalise – and he wasn’t happy after learning he failed to win man of the match.
He laughed with team-mate Gravenberch in a Sky Sports post match interview and said” Konate said: “Sky Sports, Sky Sports, who decided who is man of the match? How is this possible? It’s my brother, I have to give it to him. Milan I score, today I score, I saved one, what happened? You have to talk with them whoever decided.”
But Slot issued a brutal put-down to Konate after hearing his complaints, teasing the player and suggesting it might have been down to his poor defending for the Wolves goal.
He told Sky Sports: “Konate? Ibrahima Konate? OK. Then he maybe forgot the moment that we conceded the goal. Maybe that was the reason why we conceded, he wasn’t there at the moment because to say the least it was avoidable.”
