Trent Alexander-Arnold is intent on staying at Liverpool for another season, according to the latest reports.
LIVERPOOL have been doing alot of business over the last couple of transfer windows adding players to the side that will help get the club challenging for titles once again, but they are also keen to keep hold of some of their biggest players.
Alexander-Arnold has been criticized for many of his defensive displays during his time at the club , but that doesnt hide the fact that he is still one of the very best players in his position.
The England star has been the subject of much speculation amid rumours of a new contract at Anfield and interest from Real Madrid, but it seems that the decision has already been made on his immediate future.
The Sun reports that Alexander-Arnold has already held talks with Arne Slot about the new season with Liverpool and is committed for the upcoming campaign.
The report adds that LIVERPOOL are planning to offer Alexander-Arnold a ‘bumper’ new contract in order to fend off interest from Madrid, but the defender may hold off agreeing a new contract as a move to Madrid interests him.
‘Trent’s spoken to the new manager already,’ a source told the newspaper. This took place before the Euros and they’re in touch now.
‘They had a great conversation initially but the manager respected that he needed to focus on the tournament.
‘Trent, like the rest of the squad, sees this as a new beginning and a fresh start and he is excited to get back to training to lay the foundations for a successful, new season.
‘He is definitely committed for the season and a huge deal will be presented to him to stay beyond that. Everyone at the club has huge admiration for Trent and will be doing whatever it takes to keep him.’
