A club of Liverpool’s size and esteem will always attract the best players from around the world.
Therefore, it’s no surprise that Liverpool gets linked with the English Premier League’s best players every summer transfer season, especially if they are not from rival clubs.
Arne Slot is still evaluating his players before making big moves in the transfer season.
He might ultimately decide that the players he has at his disposal are enough and opt out of making a big signing.
However, given the slightly disappointing end to last season, a significant section of fans believes that the club needs reinforcements.
Left back is an area of concern. When fit, Andy Robertson is one of the best left backs in the world.
He has exceptional work rate, is solid defensively, and contributes significantly in attack. Though Kostas Tsimikas is a dependable deputy, he isn’t at Robertson’s level.
It makes sense, therefore, that Liverpool were linked with resurgent Wolves star Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Ait-Nouri was one of the top performance under Gary O’Neil, having been an outsider under Julen Lopetegui.
Journalist Graeme Bailey told Molineux News that Wolves will fight to keep hold of Ait-Nouri and will only sell him for a huge fee.
“With Kilman going, the belief at Molineux is that they don’t need to sell anyone else,” Bailey said.
“They thought the Kilman money was too hard to turn down, obviously, every player has a price, Ait-Nouri is one of those as well.”
“I haven’t heard any fresh links about him and Liverpool, again, I think with Kilman going, Ait-Nouri is less likely, you can’t let everyone go.”
“Wolves are in that position if they can get a big enough offer, but are Liverpool going to offer big money for a left-back? I’m not convinced they will.”
“They obviously like him, they’ve been watching him but he’s not going to be cheap. I’m not convinced he will leave this summer.”
Unless something drastic happens, it appears Ait-Nouri will stay put.
