Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news and transfer gossip that we think you guys may have missed today –
It has been claimed that people close to Bruno Guimaraes is expecting the Liverpool target to leave Newcastle this summer window.
The Brazilian star has been impressive for the Toon since since his move to the Premier League just a few windows away – and has really developed into a class Premier League star.
His performances this season has led to alot of speculation that a number of clubs are interested in a potential deal for the Brazilian International – with LIVERPOOL one of this chasing sides.
And according to reports on the TMW website – people close to the Brazilian star is expecting him to make the move away from Newcastle and join a club that is more likely to challenge for the Champions League and winning trophies.
Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe recently hinted that he may have no control over exits from the club in the summer: “I don’t think it will be an overhaul but I am not in control of it. Some things might happen so you don’t know. I have seen it so many times where things you don’t expect unfold. So we have to be ready to adapt,” he told ChronicleLive.
“I think the most important thing that must happen is we have a stronger squad at the end of this window when we leave it. But there’s no guarantees of that. I can only work as hard as I possibly can to make sure it happens.”
Guimaraes is a player that should be challenging for titles and playing in the Champions League – he is ready for that next big move and with all the changes that are going on at Liverpool – he could be a great signing.
However – with the financial fair play rules – we cant see LIVERPOOL paying £100 million for the man
KONATE ADMISSION MADE –
Ibrahima Konate admits he is happy at Liverpool and is not looking for the exit amid reports PSG are keen on a deal
Konate is in the France squad for Euro 2024 but there is plenty of competition at centre-back as the likes of Dayot Upamecano, Joules Kounde and William Saliba have also been called up by Didier Deschamps.
The defender has two years left on his contract with Liverpool and the club are keen to sign him up to a new deal, but L’Equipe report that talks have been going on for some time and are yet to be concluded.
The fact that he has not yet agreed a new contract at the club has meant that PSG have been linked with a possible move for the Frenchman – as they seek to keep adding more players to the squad this summer.
Despite this, Konate says he is content at Anfield and not pushing for a move to Ligue 1, even though he has been linked with the club he grew up watching with his brothers.
‘I’m happy at LIVERPOOL so my head is there. I don’t even think about it. I am focused on the pitch and the Euros this summer,’ he told RMC Sport.
‘It’s a bit logical because I was born in France and in Paris. I have six older brothers and they all support PSG. We watched a lot of matches together and I went to the stadium a lot when I was younger.
‘There is a little story with PSG but I made my own. I played at Sochaux, then Leipzig before Liverpool. I am happy there and I am not paying too much attention.’
Look, if a serious offer comes in from PSG in the coming months and Konate is open to the idea of leaving – we can see this move happening – it would probably be a dream come true for the player.
There are big changes happening at LIVERPOOL this summer – and it it easy for players to say that they are happy – but could end up leaving.
RAMSDALE TO LIVERPOOL?
Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale has been tipped to seal a move to the likes of Liverpool this summer window.
Ramsdale is seemingly done at the Emirates this coming transfer window after falling behind David Raya in the pecking order at the Emirates – and there has been alot of speculation about where he could end up in the coming months.
He has been linked with a move to Newcastle in recent weeks, and there has also been claimed that Chelsea are very much interested in signing the England International to solve their goalkeeping issues.
However – amid al the speculation – pundit Paul Robinson was speaking to Football Insider, and has said that the former Sheffield United man is likely to remain in the Premier League and a move to Anfield to be the first-choice option with Alisson would be a good outcome for him if Caoimhin Kelleher leaves the club.
He said: “If Kelleher leaves Liverpool, there’s an opportunity for him to go and be a number one with Alisson. Look at the amount of games Kelleher has played this year, compared to Ramsdale, there’s an opportunity there to have more game time and prove himself.”
Look, Ramsdale is a top stopper that does not need to be on the bench and if he does decide to make the move to LIVERPOOL– he would be number two once again.
Allison may pick up some injuries – he may get some rest time – but he is the number one at Anfield and that will not change even if Ramsdale comes in and impresses new boss Arne Slot.
He needs to join a club that does not already have a world class stopper in the squad – he is too good to be sitting on the bench every week.
