Pittsburgh Steelers news: To say that Russell Wilson has not been able to live up to all the hype in his first two seasons with the Denver Broncos would be an understatement. This is exactly why there have now been widespread rumors about the nine-time Pro Bowler parting ways with Denver this summer.
A number of teams have already been linked to a potential swoop on Wilson, but it appears that the Steelers are now in pole position to win the race.

As reported by Michael David Smith of PFT, the bookmakers have now deemed Pittsburgh as Wilson’s top landing spot should he leave the Broncos. Right now, the Steelers are “-250 favorite to be Wilson’s team at the start of the 2024 season, via DraftKings.”
Multiple reports have already indicated that the Broncos have every intention of cutting Wilson in March despite the fact that this will cost them upwards of $80 million to do so. This just goes to show how desperate this team is to pull the plug on this utterly failed experiment.

As for the Steelers, there is reportedly some conflict within the squad with regard to the team’s starting quarterback for the upcoming season. While Kenny Pickett remains the favorite, some individuals within the squad reportedly feel that Mason Rudolph deserves a shot based on how he ended the season.
According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh-Post Gazette, “there appears to be some internal division that maybe Mason Rudolph should be the starter.”
Obviously, both of them will need to concede the QB1 spot if Wilson comes in.
