The Patriots hired a new offensive line coaching staff on Tuesday, and it checked off all the boxes you could ask for. He started coaching in the NFL under Kyle Shanahan and Andy Reid. And this… come to think of it, these are all boxes that need to be ticked.
According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, New England “plans to hire Taylor Embree as its new running backs coach. Embry recently coached the same position with the New York Jets, and as I said before, he has a pretty good resume.
Embry started as a defensive assistant with the Kansas City Chiefs and moved to the offensive end as the quality control coach under Shanahan with the San Francisco 49ers. He got the chance to coach the team in 2021 when Robert Saleh hired him as his first hire in New York.
He coached both tight ends and running backs.Embrey is the Patriots’ new quarterbacks coach T. McCartney in San Francisco in 2017 and 2018. The 35-year-old, who played at UCLA, comes from a football family. Embry’s father, John, is currently the coach of the Miami Dolphins and was Colorado’s head coach for two seasons. His brother Connor is currently an offensive assistant for the Chiefs.
The Patriots’ coaching staff is nearly complete, with wide receivers and tight ends appearing to be the only positions left unfilled.
