All indications are that Apple’s upcoming Patriots docu-series will provide exciting new details about New England’s storied dynasty. We’ve learned new information about the broken relationship between Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.
Don’t expect Belichick to say anything about pushing Malcolm Butler in Super Bowl LII. The Athletic’s Chad Graff recently premiered the entire 10-part series, which debuts Friday with two episodes. Graf offered some insight into how Belichick answered Wednesday’s question from quarterback Matthew Hamacek about benching Butler. Excerpt from Count’s review:“Matt, we talked about it,” Belichick says without further explanation. This suggests that there is some kind of agreement between the coach and the principal to avoid the subject.
Graff also noted that Belichick’s interview during the series during New England’s disastrous 2023 season “didn’t say much.” Belichick, who left the Patriots last month, may have been upset by rumors about his employment status.Either way, I’d be surprised if Belichick ends up benching Butler. We can learn the truth from Butler himself.
