Avoiding any sudden moves, Bill Belichick has opted out of the 2024 NFL season after failing to secure a head coaching job despite several vacancies. And while the 71-year-old doesn’t have an off year, he could very well be drafted in 2025.
ESPN’s Dan Graziano wrote Sunday that Belichick is ready to be “done” for the 2025 cycle, citing three teams that could hire the legendary coach after the 2024 season. “Belichick is a history buff who can prioritize historic franchises for the next cycle,” Graziano wrote.
“Why is it important?” Consider possible openings including the Cowboys (Dallas), Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears. These are all NFL flagships with rich histories. Belichick’s strong relationship with Jerry Jones could be huge if Mike McCarthy’s contract expires without a playoff win.
Mike McCarthy’s contract expires at the end of next season. They broke the green robbers and broke them, and many thought Dallas could access McCati by 2024. But owner Jerry Jones McCarthy is outside next year if it did not take place next year.
Especially since he won the game in four seasons, especially in the game. But the biggest question for Belichick was whether he could lose control of the 24 seasons he played for the New England Patriots.
Falcons owner Arthur Blank has made it clear he has nothing to do with Atlanta hiring Raheem Morris and Belichick as their next coach, and he doesn’t see it as a problem despite Jones leading the Cowboys. “I know him personally and I like him,” Jones told Yahoo Sports during the Senior Bowl. “There is no doubt that we can work together. Now. Now. “We know he’s very good, maybe even the best at his job,” he continued.
“It’s ridiculous for anyone to tell you that you’re automatically guaranteed a Super Bowl. This is too much hope for him. But can he become the greatest professional football coach of all time? It could very well be.”He’s a friend.
I like him I want to make this clear: I will have no problem working with him.” Jones concluded. Any of the above teams would be interested in Belichick. That’s especially true for a team like the Eagles, who have quarterback Jalen Hurts under contract through the 2028 season.
The Bears also have a lot of decisions to make regarding their quarterback situation. With choice no. 1 in the 2024 NFL Draft, they must decide whether to stick with Justin Fields or draft a quarterback.
