From Reba McEntire’s national anthem to the color of the liquid spilled on the winning coach to the Super Bowl MVP market, there are many ways to bet on Super Bowl LVIII between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. We’ve picked our favorite betting odds and put together the best four-legged bets at odds of 8-1. All odds are from FanDuel Sportsbook. Travis Kelce’s passing yards are 60 (-210).Kelce’s benchmark is set at 72.5 over/under (-110), but there are plenty of alternate lines, from 40 yards (-600) to 150 yards (10-1).
Kelce had a slow start to the 2023 season, but has been in top form this postseason. Kelce is averaging over 87 yards per game this postseason, including 116 yards in the AFC Championship Game. Had 60 yards or more in 17 of 21 career playoff games. You’re likely to exceed that number, but we’d be willing to pay a few dollars more.
Christian McCaffrey Touchdown Anytime (-230)We’re putting some more juice here, but it might be worth it since it’s not as expensive as McCaffrey’s previous bet. McCaffrey scored two touchdowns in each of San Francisco’s two playoff games, all four coming on the ground. We’re also interested in McCaffrey’s two rushing touchdowns on the 410, but we can’t include them in this play. Patrick Mahomes over 1.5 (-150)FanDuel has Mahomes 2 at -158, so it’s important to shop around and find cheaper numbers.
Recent history speaks against this. Mahomes has two touchdowns in one of three postseason games after scoring a touchdown in four of the last five regular season games. Kansas City’s running game, led by Isiah Pacheco, can take away from Mahomes’ efforts in the red zone. However, Mahomes scored at least two touchdowns in each of his two Super Bowl victories. It’s easy to imagine his scenario repeating itself this time around. Second Half Total Under 23.5 (-110)When Mike Cole and Ricky Doyle discuss NESN’s football podcast picks on this week’s episode of “The Spread,” don’t be surprised if it turns into a big fight in the second half. Perhaps no one makes in-game adjustments better than Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spannuolo. Spagh’s decent calling card gives the Chiefs a real chance to handcuff the 49ers in the second half.
It may have been San Francisco defensive coordinator Steve Wilks’ biggest strength against the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship. That means a quick start in the first half can turn into a possession game in the second half.
