The Bruins recalled the speed forward after Matthew Poitra suffered an injury.
There was no shortage of depth options to consider as the Bruins decided to poke around to find someone to replace Matthew Poitras in the lineup. Boston has recalled Anthony Richard from AHL-Providence, Bruins general manager Don Sweeney announced.
Richard, 27, is having a solid season with Providence, scoring 19 goals and 38 points in 41 games. He currently has 14 goals in his last 17 matches.The forward played in 463 AHL games and scored 283 points during his career with Providence, Laval, Milwaukee, Syracuse and Chicago. He can play left or right wing and has appeared in 15 career NHL games, recording three goals and two assists for five points.
Richard did not attend the Bruins’ morning skate at TD Garden on Thursday. He cannot play as a backup forward in Boston’s game against the Vancouver Canucks.
