According to the latest report, the Celtics’ plans will be revealed before the NBA trade deadline.
The Boston Celtics traded away on Wednesday, acquiring prospect Xavier Tillman from the Memphis Grizzlies. Because of Boston’s limited financial flexibility following the deal, President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens appeared satisfied with Boston’s roster prior to the NBA trade deadline.About 5 hours until Thursday at 15.00. ET Deadline, Yahoo Sports NBA’s Jake Fisher reported that the Celtics won’t be making any more moves. “Barring any surprises, I think Boston will make a move before 3pm (Thursday). ET trading deadline,” Fisher posted on the X platform.
Stevens can’t go in and buy a new bench, but Boston’s quiet deadline would not be surprising. The 39-12 Celtics, five games out of the Eastern Conference standings, weren’t expected to be a major player before the deadline.
Stevens made all the big signings of the offseason, trading Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday, who have been instrumental in the team’s success this season.
