Brock Holt edits Justin Turner’s Red Sox farewell post.
Former Red Sox fan favorite Justin Turner couldn’t help but point out that there was a gap in Boston’s bye. A week after joining the Toronto Blue Jays via Major League Baseball free agency, Turner posted a farewell post to the Red Sox on Instagram.
The veteran outfielder looked back on his “special” time in Boston and expressed his gratitude for sharing a court once enjoyed by legends like Ted Williams, Jimmy Fox, Jim Rice, Nomar Garciaparra, David Ortiz and Dustin Pedroia. Fenway Park is also home to a certain World Series utility champion, as Turner noted in the comments section of his post.
Turner also spoke highly of the Red Sox during a media appearance against the Blue Jays last week. The 39-year-old said it was “very special” to be in a Boston uniform through the 2023 season and that he “loved every minute” of his time with the Red Sox.The two-time All-Stars are scheduled to return to Fenway Park for the first time on June 24 when the Red Sox and Blue Jays play a three-game series.
