Brown first appeared in 2021. Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown is making his third NBA All-Star Game appearance.The Eastern Conference backup players were named on TNT’s pregame show before the Celtics’ game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night, and Brown was the first to be revealed.
Brown will join Celtics teammate Jayson Tatum, who was named the starter for the second straight season, in the festivities marking the return of the classic Eastern vs. Western Conference matchup. The traditional scoring system of 12-minute increments will also be used again. Selected third overall in the 2016 draft, Brown averaged 22.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3 assists per game for the NBA-leading Celtics this season.In addition to Brown, six players were named Eastern Conference reserves, with Donovan Mitchell, Jalen Brunson, Bam Adebayo, Julius Randle, Tyrese Maxey and Paolo Banchero all getting the nod. Tatum will start the game alongside East teammates Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Haliburton and Damian Lillard.
