Nick Keighley is the favorite to land the job. The Patriots didn’t even conduct a head coaching search after parting ways with Bill Belichick. As of Monday morning, the search for a new defensive and special teams coordinator is also not complete.
But finding an offensive coordinator is a whole other story.According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Bree, New England recently requested interviews with Scott Turner and Clint Kubiak. Turner is the Raiders’ passing game coordinator and Kubiak is the San Francisco 49ers’ passing game specialist.
This brings the list of announced/scheduled interviews to 11. The number of searches for defensive coordinator and special teams coordinator were 5 and 3, respectively.

Kailey played in various roles with the Patriots from 2015 to 2022 before serving as the coach of the Los Angeles Rams last season.DeMarcus Covington, an internal candidate, is expected to be promoted to defensive coordinator. He coached the outside linebackers in 2019 and the defensive line from 2020 to 2023.At this time, the preferred candidate for the Special Teams Coordinator position has not been announced.
Assistant Joe Houston is reportedly leaving the Patriots and transferring to the University of Florida. The futures of Joe Judge and Cam Acord remain uncertain, but it would be surprising if they both return.
