Luke Getsy is the latest candidate in the Patriots offensive coordinator search.
Jerod Mayo continues to cast his nets in the hunt for a coordinator, most recently bringing in Luke Gatsey. According to ESPN, the New England Patriots plan to interview the former Chicago Bears offensive coordinator for Opening Day.
Gaetsi was recalled from his duties in Chicago at the end of the regular season after two years as head coach. Since then, he has been in talks with the Las Vegas Raiders for an open offensive coordinator position.Before coming to Chicago, Gaetsy spent most of his coaching career in Green Bay, where he overlapped with Patriots director of scouting Eliot Wolff from 2014 to 2017.
Gaetsi has held many positions with the Packers, most notably the passing game coordinator, quarterbacks and receivers coach.Gatsey, a former quarterback, also spent a year at Mississippi State in 2018 as the team’s offensive coordinator and receivers coach. Getsey is the latest name among the announced candidates in Mayo’s offensive coordinator search.
Others who have been interviewed and are still available include Rams assistants Zach Robinson and Nick Caley, Texas QB coach Jerrod Johnson, Panthers offensive coordinator Thomas Brown, Lions offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand and 49ers coach Brian Fleury.
