The Atlanta Falcons are the only team to interview Bill Belichick since parting ways with the New England Patriots on Jan. 11. According to multiple reports, the Falcons interviewed Belichick twice. The first involved interviews with team owner Arthur Blank and the second with Blank, team CEO Rich McKay and other executives.
Blank ultimately decided to go in a different direction and hired Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris as the Falcons’ new head coach on Thursday. Morris was a member of the Falcons coaching staff from 2015 to 2020. He replaced Dan Quinn as the team’s interim head coach during the 2020 campaign.

The sport certainly seems to want Belichick to have the same power in Atlanta that he had for years in New England.“According to sources with knowledge of the Falcons and Blank, the crossover was an element of the realignment that needed to occur within the Falcons to increase the chances of Belichick being hired,” Robinson wrote. Blank and Belichick never discussed detailed plans for how the reins would work under the head coach, but sources said the meeting with Blank assured Belichick that the full range of football operations, personnel and coaching would be his responsibility.
