During his tenure at Old Trafford, former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho disclosed that he faced allegations of intimidation against a player from Red Devils United.
Mourinho stated as much during a speech on The Obi One podcast.
After moving to Manchester United in 2016, the Portuguese helped the team win the Europa League and the League Cup.
Additionally, he guided them to a second-place finish in the 2017–18 Premier League season.
Nonetheless, Mourinho had several high-profile altercations with players including Luke Shaw and Paul Pogba prior to his dismissal from Manchester United in December 2018.
“I switched players at halfway while I was at Manchester United. On The Obi One podcast, Mourinho stated, “I changed at halftime; his agent was accusing me of bullying.”
He was on the bench at Stamford Bridge with [Nemanja] Matic. At minute 45, I put him on, and at minute 70, I removed him. No, that’s coaching; that’s education. That would be going all out to win. I needed to [make a] shift.
“I laugh at these times, but they are different now.” You have to be a different dad than your own father was to you, even just to be a father. Football is somewhat of a byproduct of having to adapt to the global environment.
