In the NFL, no team is going to win a Super Bowl without being stout in the trenches, and the Houston Texans are learning that the hard way in the 2024 NFL Season. Houston is 7-4 on the season and could runaway with the AFC South title. The Indianapolis Colts are behind them at 5-6, but since Houston swept Indy this year, the Colts would have to essentially make-up three games in the standings, and with just six left for each of them, that isn’t likely. But just because Houston is very likely set to win the AFC South for…

HOUSTON – Nico Collins is primed for an increased workload Sunday against the Tennessee Titans in his second game back from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for five games. As explosive as he looked against the Dallas Cowboys, especially on a touchdown burst on a screen play that was called back due to a penalty, the Texans’ star wide receiver emphasized that’s just the preview of what he plans to do in the second half of the season. The Texans had Collins on a reduced role Monday night as he caught four passes for 54 yards on seven targets.…

Liverpool have enjoyed some brilliant players across the years, but when thinking of the finest to ply their trade on green grass, fans can often be drawn, for better or worse, to those at the front of the ship. We get it. Goals are great. Goals, by their very definition, are the most crucial part of the game. The goal of football is to score more than the other team. Luis Suarez Liverpool graphic But what about those in the middle? Liverpool have had some fine midfielders throughout the age – what about the best of modern times? Liverpool’s finest…

Shane Long thought Liverpool Legend was “horrendous” when he first arrived in the Premier League, only to be proven totally wrong by the future Liverpool hero. Mane came through the youth ranks of Generation Foot before signing his first professional contract with Metz in 2011, with Red Bull Salzburg snapping him up the following year. Bagging 45 goals and 32 assists in just 87 games for the Austrian giants made a wealth of larger sides take notice of the fast forward, with Southampton bringing him to the English top flight in 2014 in a £10million deal. And while fans of…

Southampton vs. Liverpool: Will Arne Slot risk Trent and Van Dijk on Sunday? Liverpool will not take risks by using players who are not necessarily at full fitness against Southampton such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reds expert David Lynch has claimed. Premier League football returns this weekend, and the Merseysiders will hope to continue their title charge on Sunday when they travel to face Southampton. Arne Slot’s side are first in the division with 28 points from a possible 33, and the Dutchman’s team have so far managed to capitalise on the vulnerabilities of title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City. However,…

If Liverpool’s detractors were hoping the period between the October and November international breaks would have adversely defined their season, then there would have been plenty of grumbles when the final whistle went against Aston Villa. Rather than suffocate under the weight of pressure that games with Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton and Villa brought alongside continental clashes with Bundesliga pair RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen, Arne Slot’s side instead soared to the top of both the Premier League and Champions League table. Throw in a hard-earned victory at Brighton to set up a Carabao Cup quarter-final and another trip to the…

Soccer pundits Chris Sutton and Paul Merson are both tipping Liverpool to record a victory and a clean sheet against Southampton on Sunday. The game at St. Mary’s is a battle between top and bottom, with Arne Slot’s side sitting pretty on 28 points from 11 matches and Saints having picked up just four points from the same amount of games. Slot, however, praised Southampton during his pre-match press conference, stating his admiration for Russell Martin’s side’s style of play and saying that he doesn’t expect a straightforward game. Still, the pundits are expecting Liverpool to continue its incredible start…

Conor Bradley is set to start for Liverpool away at Southampton on Sunday. Trent Alexander-Arnold will miss the Reds’ trip to St. Mary’s with a hamstring injury, and is a doubt for their clash with Real Madrid at least as a result. Consequently, Bradley is poised to come into Arne Slot’s starting XI against the Saints. And he was given a warm reception by the Dutchman upon his return to the AXA Training Centre after international duty. The Northern Ireland international played for his country in their 2-0 victory over Belarus and 2-2 draw with Luxembourg during the November international…

Manchester City went head-to-head with the Premier League over APT rules, with a decision now reached. A decision has been reached on APT rule amendments after Manchester City challenged the Premier League. In June City launched unprecedented legal action against the Premier League in a bid to stop Associated Party Transaction rules which were brought in back in 2021. The club claimed that previous rules were “unlawful” and submitted 165-page legal document ahead of a legal hearing where City achieved some success and were victorious in seven of their key arguments. In order for the rules to be updated, 14…

Manchester City have been dealt a major blow as part of their ongoing legal battles with the Premier League. Premier League clubs have officially voted by the two-thirds majority needed to approve changes to Associated Party Transaction (APT) rules. The rules themselves place a limit on how much companies associated with clubs can feed into the club itself, such as through sponsorship deals. There has been the accusation that some clubs had been inflating these deals ‘above market value’ to allow themselves to spend more and pay higher wages whilst still complying with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.…
