Kentucky basketball is once again dealing with injury concerns as the Wildcats prepare for the start of the 2026-27 season.
According to KSR’s Jack Pilgrim, junior wing Trent Noah has suffered another setback with the hamstring injury that first bothered him earlier this summer.
Noah initially tweaked the hamstring in July. At the time, head coach Mark Pope described the issue as “a nothing,” but the injury eventually forced Noah to miss Kentucky’s final open practice of the summer.
Now, the latest aggravation could keep Noah out for a significant portion of preseason preparations and potentially affect his availability for Kentucky’s exhibition games.
That development adds another name to an increasingly long injury list for the Wildcats.
Kentucky has already had to manage several health issues throughout the offseason. Kam Williams missed summer practices after undergoing a second procedure on the foot he injured last season. Pope has remained optimistic about Williams’ chances of being ready for the regular season.
Franck Kepnang has also been carefully managed during the offseason as he continues working his way back from previous leg injuries. His situation has required Kentucky’s staff to take a cautious approach during summer workouts.
More recently, Milan Momcilovic became another concern after suffering an injury to the index finger on his shooting hand. Initial reports raised fears that the Iowa State transfer had fractured the finger, but subsequent information indicated that it was a severe jam rather than a break.
Momcilovic is expected to return around the beginning of fall practice, giving Kentucky some positive news despite the temporary setback.
For Mark Pope and his staff, the priority now is getting the roster healthy before the games begin counting.
Kentucky has considerable time to recover before the regular season, but Noah’s latest hamstring issue highlights how quickly injuries can become a storyline for the Wildcats.
With preseason practices approaching, BBN will be watching closely to see when Noah, Williams, Kepnang, and Momcilovic are able to return to full action.
