Kentucky’s newest addition is officially on his way to Lexington, but there’s more to the story than just his arrival.
Milan Momcilovic is expected to arrive on campus at Kentucky early Saturday afternoon, according to sources. The 6-foot-8, 210-pound forward recently signed with the Wildcats after withdrawing from the NBA Draft and ultimately choosing Mark Pope’s program over Louisville and Arizona.
Momcilovic brings immediate excitement to Big Blue Nation, but what makes his situation even more interesting is the flexibility surrounding his college future. While he currently has one year of eligibility remaining, there is still a possibility he could gain additional eligibility depending on whether proposed NCAA changes — including the “5-in-5” rule — are eventually approved.
On the court, Kentucky is getting one of the most efficient shooters in the country. Last season at Iowa State, Momcilovic led Division I in three-point shooting percentage, knocking down 48.7% of his attempts while averaging 7.5 shots per game. He finished the year averaging 16.9 points and 3.1 rebounds in 30.5 minutes per contest, earning All-Big 12 Second Team honors.
His elite perimeter shooting is expected to be a perfect fit in Mark Pope’s offensive system, immediately improving Kentucky’s spacing and scoring threat from deep. With his arrival, the Wildcats continue to build serious momentum heading into the 2026–27 season.
For Kentucky, this isn’t just another transfer addition — it’s a high-impact move that could reshape expectations in the SEC.
