As the Kentucky Wildcats continue to build their roster for the upcoming season, one major decision still looms: whether standout guard Otega Oweh will return to Lexington or remain in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Although Oweh is currently going through the pre-draft process, many close to the program believe he is leaning toward returning. The official withdrawal deadline is May 28, leaving time for him to make a final decision.
During a recent appearance on Jon Rothstein’s podcast, new Kentucky head coach Mark Pope shared his optimism regarding Oweh’s return.
“Otega is going through this draft process, and we’re cheering for him every step of the way,” said Pope. “But I know a lot of his heart is back here at Kentucky. If he does return, he’ll probably be the favorite for SEC Player of the Year and could even land on preseason All-American lists.”
Oweh’s return would be a major boost for Pope’s inaugural season at Kentucky, potentially giving the Wildcats one of the most dynamic players in college basketball.
