Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James was involved in a frightening collision during Wednesday’s game against the Golden State Warriors. Midway through the first quarter, James ran into Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga and fell to the ground, clutching his midsection in pain.
The Lakers’ medical staff rushed to attend to James, who was seen screaming and slapping the court in agony. However, after a brief absence, James returned to the game and put on a remarkable performance.
Despite his injury, James led the Lakers in scoring, finishing with 33 points, five rebounds, and eight assists on an impressive 10-for-15 shooting line. Unfortunately, his efforts were not enough, as the Lakers fell 121-116 to the Warriors.
The loss denied the Lakers a series sweep of their California rivals. Austin Rivers provided a key contribution for the Lakers, hitting 10-of-19 shots, including 9-of-16 from beyond the arc, to finish with 31 points and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Golden State star Steph Curry put up a game-high 37 points, supported by a strong shooting night from guard Brandin Podziemski, who knocked down 8-of-10 shots from 3-point range and 10-of-17 from the field for 28 points.
